The catalog collections will prove valuable to:

  • Wood canoe and boat historians: The catalogs contain valuable information about the history of these companies, information about the canoes, boats, and accessories they offered, and provide a look at changing tastes and advertising strategies over the years

  • Wood canoe and boat restorers: The catalogs aid in the identification of builder and model of unknown boats. They provide valuable information about materials and construction methods used, options and accessories, as well as colors and color designs that may have been used.

  • Catalog Collectors: The catalogs on the CDs can be used to identify catalogs in a collection that are undated, and can help to evaluate condition and completeness of individual catalogs.

The Historic Wood Canoe and Boat Company Catalog Collection - Version 2. - $75.00

We've outgrown a single CD! This new version on two CD-ROMs is a collection of many catalogs from many U.S. manufacturers; pretty much everybody except Old Town, Thompson, Penn Yan and the Canadian manufacturers. To aid in accessing information, model and design indices are provided for manufacturers with multiple catalogs. We've added lots of catalogs over the 6 years that Version 1 has been offered. To help you know if anything has been added that you may be interested in, the dates listed in italic were added to Version 1 since its initial release (therefore, depending on when you purchased Version 1, you may or may not already have it). Those dates listed in bold type are new additions and have never been released on one of our CDs before. Many of the newest additions are the truely rare and old items, like some of the Rushton and Bowdish catalogs. Some of these scans were made from the only known surviving copy. Given the expense one would incur trying to collect original copies of all of these catalogs, we believe this is truly a bargain!
